Traveling to Harrisburg

Harrisburg is located in the heart of south-central Pennsylvania and is easily accessible by car and public transportation. There is ample parking in garages and lots across Downtown Harrisburg, and free street parking walking distance from our conference location north of 10th Street.

By Train: Amtrak operates the Keystone line which makes over a dozen daily trip in each direction between Harrisburg and Philadelphia, and one daily trip between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. The Harrisburg Transportation Center, is located in Downtown Harrisburg, and is walking distance (about three minutes) to the YAC 2017 location.

By Bus: Greyhound, Megabus, Susquehanna Trailways, and Fullington Trailways offer direct and connecting bus service from major Pennsylvania cities to Harrisburg. The buses arrive at either the Harrisburg Transportation Center or the Harrisburg Mall.

By Plane: Harrisburg International Airport offers direct service to and from the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia airports. American Airlines and Southern Airways Express operate the domestic flights within Pennsylvania to Harrisburg.

 


Erie – 300 miles
Car: Travel south on I-79 toward Pittsburgh. Take exit 116A to merge onto I-80 East. Take exit 161 to head onto PA-26 toward Bellefonte. Head south on PA-144, and then onto US-322 East, which heads directly into Downtown Harrisburg.
Bus: Connecting service through Pittsburgh is available to Harrisburg with Greyhound.
Plane:
Connecting service from Erie International Airport through Philadelphia.


Philadelphia – 100 miles
Car: Travel west on I-76. Take exit 247 toward Harrisburg. Continue on I-283 East for about three miles, and then merge onto I-83 South. Take the Exit 43 toward Capitol/Second Street. You will be in Downtown Harrisburg.
Bus: Direct service is available to Harrisburg with Megabus and Greyhound.
Train: Amtrak’s Keystone and Pennsylvanian Lines offer regular service from Harrisburg to Philadelphia.
Plane: Direct service from Philadelphia International Airport to Harrisburg.


Pittsburgh – 200 miles
Car: Travel east on I-76. Take exit 236 toward US-15 North/Harrisburg. Continue on US-15 North for about five miles, and after crossing the Harvey Taylor Bridge, you will be in Downtown Harrisburg.
Bus: Direct service is available to Harrisburg with Megabus and Greyhound.
Train: Amtrak’s Pennsylvanian Line offers service from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg which departs daily at 7:30am.
Plane: Direct and connecting service from Pittsburgh International Airport to Harrisburg.


Scranton – 120 miles
Car: Travel on the Central Scranton Expressway toward I-81 South/Wilkes-Barre. Merge onto I-81 South. Take exit 67A-B to merge onto US-22E toward PA-230E/Harrisburg. Merge onto US-22 East and you will be in Downtown Harrisburg.


State College – 85 miles
Car: Travel east on US-322 toward Lewistown. After about 80 miles, merge onto US-22 East, and after about 10 miles you will be in Downtown Harrisburg.
Bus: Direct service is available to Harrisburg with Megabus, Greyhound, and Fullington Trailways.
